A farad capacitor is a capacitor that can store exactly 1 coulomb of charge when it is charged with a voltage of 1 volt. The value of 1 farad is denoted as 1 farad or 1 Farad or 1 F or 1 μF (micro farad).

The trick to measuring is the two plates have to be inside a shielded container connected to ground.
